2021/22 U15 Girls Paul Pink Information 

The Youth Girl’s competition is played in T20 format and competes for the Paul Pink Shield. It’s played under Premier Cricket standards and the same rules as the Jodie Fields Shield (Women’s Second Grade). This competition provides a clear pathway forplayers between junior community cricket and senior premier grade competition.
A key feature of this competition is that many of the games are played under lights on turf wickets at Wests’ Chelmer Sports Ground facility.

When is the competition run?
The competition is run before and Christmas on the following dates - 


Majority of games will be on Sundays, but some teams might get night fixtures on Friday/Saturday night).  Most games are played in the greater Brisbane area,  however we could play at Gold Coast, Ipswich or Sunshine Coast. The draw is expected to befinalised in the coming weeks and will be published on MyCricket.  

What is the age cut off? 
Girls up to the age of 15 are eligible to play in the Paul Pink Shield (as of Sep 1 2021).  Each club however is allowed 2 over aged players who are suitable to the Paul Pink standard. 

Who can play?
It is important to note this is open for all girls to participate and is not restricted to current Wynnum-Manly players.  To further clarify, the team is part of the senior program at Wynnum-Manly and not from the junior club. Junior girls from u11 and older, arewelcomed to attend training and participate in the match day experience.  Participating in team warm-ups and learning from the senior players is an invaluable experience for them. 

When is training? 
Training will commence on TBC and will be on Wednesday nights between 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at the Wynnum-Manly club on Boundary Street, Tingalpa.

Coaching Team
The coach for the team is TBC who will work alongside the Wynnum-Manly Women’s coaching team of TBC (Wynnum Women’s 2nd Grade & Level 2 Coach) and Ciara Metcalfe (Wynnum Women’s Head Coach & Level 3Coach). 

Selection Criteria
Please note a squad approach will be used, as it is expected players will be unavailable at times due to the Christmas holiday period.  A number of criteria will be used to select the team including: 

• Older girls will be given preference to allow them the opportunity to participate 
• Attendance and performance at training 
• On field performances
• Adherence to the team values and behaviours

Parental involvement
Aside from help with scoring, parents can sit back and enjoy the matches with umpires provided for the game.  

How to register?
Email TBC including parental contact information, player’s name, date of birth and your availability for games.  

There is no cost to play and playing gear will be provided. All players will need spikes.
